Ok, not to sound like an ass... but it sounds like more of you race magazines than real cars. Unless that dude in the S2k is a complete ******, he should smoke that 300C. That 300C might have some HP, but its a slug. Its huge, and heavy, and doesnt handle work a dick.

I routinely attend autocross, and I can tell you S2ks are fast , if driven correctly. I can also tell you that an Sti with some racing slicks will outperform almost every car at the autocross because it is easy as hell to drive. I can tell you Z06's are fast as hell, but noone who owns them can drive them worth a damn and they always spin out.. same with Vipers. Caterham 7's will dominate. Go carts rule the course.

So go put down your Motor Trend Magazines.. and your 0-60 times, and your stated 1/4mi times and go to the track and watch the cars perform. Without professional drivers, many of the cars you might think are fast, are too hard to drive to be worth a damn.

Sorry for the rant.... and the fact this is off the original topic....

Just because a guy asks for car advice doesn't mean we need to turn this into a moronic debate about cars on racetracks. No where in his post did I see him pose any interest in racing this vehicle.
If reading the car discussion causes you discomfort, stop reading the thread.

Threads diverge. There's no rule that demands that responses stay within the narrow confines of the original question.

Welcome to the world of discussion forums! (emphasis added)

p.s. Is it bench racing if some of the people have actually driven some of the cars being discussed, on a race track?

Sure it is, when you and some buds are sitting around and talking trash about cars, bikes or anything fast it's good times. Does it matter how fast you are or if some race and some don't? It's still fun.

Are your special undies chafing again?

You and ranger5oh have at least one thing in common. Making absurd statements that illustrate your lack of experience.

You might want to have them checked then.

It's apparent that your frailty and overwhelming feelings of inadequacy are generating some false positives.

That is pretty ironic. I was just about to say that about you.

To the OP: I know this thread has gotten off topic and I'm not sure if you are still around, but do you have a specific price bracket you are looking in? Or any other features that you want to have on your bike toter?

And exactly what lack of experience would you be referring to?

Riding experience? Driving experience?

Driving. Generally speaking, and I could be wrong in this case, but the only people who bench race on the internet are the guys whos track experience consists mainly of mario kart. I don't mean to be insulting if I am wrong about you. I was just going off my experience with the subject.

Hey Mr. Broken record, I've already heard that song. Get some new material, otherwise this isn't going to be very interesting.

Yeah, that's it. In my area Mario Kart looks something like this though:

I still can't figure out why they let me climb into student's cars and instruct though.

Maybe it was that one Mario Kart session where I gathered all of the stars and fought Donkey Kong in the infield to advance to the next level.

I've found that it's best to stick with the truth. While you might not find it to be interesting, that's the life that you are stuck with.

Suck it up princess.

This guy wants reliable family transportation that he can carry his bike/s with. How did this become a race thread? Have you considered a Jeep cherokee or wrangler. You can get a hitch mount or tire mount bike rack and save the space inside the vehicle for your belongings. I have a wrangler and Its reliable, doesnt get stuck in the winter, convertable in the summer and it can haul me and my girls bike to where ever the trail starts. Just a thought.

I have a miata also. Strangely, I've noticed a lot of miata owners have a Honda Element as the practical car.
My mountain bike fits in the back with the rear seat folded out of the way. Using bungee cords, you don't even need to take off a wheel to tie it down.
No carpet and neoprone seats makes cleaning baby spills or dirt from the bike very easy.
The way the seats recline, you can take a full power nap after a long active day.
Optional on demand four wheel drive.

It's just so darn practical. Some people are put off by the styling. I call it my anti-theft device.
I love it. I still kept the miata as my fun summer car. But the E is my workhorse.
Unless you have a really really big bike, check out this link (not my bike)

The guy wants to ride his bike....this is a bike forum....discussions about bikes....he wants opinions on reliable fuel efficient transportation for his bikes and up and coming family. A wrx may be a suitable vehicle for his needs with a roof rack as I am sure it is both fuel efficient and fun to drive. But none the less he was asking for our opinions on a specific subject. why not just start a fast car thread and answer the guys question here instead of pirating his thread for something else. Not that I care mind you I just find it curious. When people ask me something like...how many wheels does a car have? I say 4. Not motorcycles have 2 and the kawasaki is faster than the suzuki but if you really want my opinion I would get the ducati because I really like the way they look and I think there much faster than both, My christmas tree is green and my cats breath smells like cat food!

Because people were replying to comments made about cars that were being suggested. What's the big deal? "pirating his thread"? How silly. You seem to think that there's some kind of thread ownership that enables the thread starter to determine and/or dictate which direction a thread takes.

Are you a frustrated former hall monitor or something?
