what type of helmet

i was just wondering what type of helmet i should be using. i have been using my dirtbike helmet for a while but it doesnt vent like at all and is pretty heavy. i dont ride all that extreme, pretty much trails and jumps, i dont know if i really need a full face helmet or a skate type helmet. or even just a regular helmet. thanks

That is a personal choice but if it were me I would look into two seperate helmets. I would go with a cross country type helmet for the days you are riding xc and a skate type helmet for the days you are going to the jump parks. On hot days you will appreciate the vents and lightness of the xc type helmet (giro havoc for example).

if you are jumping stuff and risking a lot, go with full-face motocross

if you are just MTB and usually stay on the ground, standard bike helmet

What kind of jumping are you talking about? Becuae they are 2 kinds. A launch jump, and a steep Dirt Jump, if you hit the launch jumps, you will need a full face. If you DJ then just get a "Skid Lid".
