I bring Deuter pack w/water, cell phone, id, keys, small knife, quikstik lever, 2 tubes, 4 co2 and inflator, presta adaptor, multi tools(2), allen wrenches, cone wrenches duct tape, piece of flag wire w/outflag( skewer), first aid kit, monocular, benadryl( allergic to bees big time), map of trail if available, eyewear, helmet, gloves, small adjustable wrench, shock pump and Im sure some other stuff Im forgetting. I just leave it in my M3 bag and if I need it its there.
Ive learned over the years that even if I dont need it I inevidably will run into someone who does and "Id rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it"
on long boonie trips to Va. mountains I carry a water filter that fits in my water bottle cage also because 3 liters doesnt last all day.

thought about getting some extra chain links, but since i dropped the big ring and never bothered to shorten my chain, i figure i can remove a broken link no worries and still ride. So i guess i already carry extra links :)

That holds my meds(2 Lortab 10mg + 2 Soma) and some non-prescription stress medication. I have several herniated discs that will hurt like a SOB if I twist the wrong way .

EDIT: Yeah, I always bring a phone as well.

Same as above but add a 4" knife and remove the mini-pump. I'm planning on buying a CO2 system and packing a spare tube. Those darn patch kits just don't work for me.

I dunno, I never got it on with one of the squirrels or bambi. The women I ride with are all married or a lot younger. Oh yeah, I just remembered, I'm married too.

My sport of choice is cycling:) mountain + road . I had to give up rock climbing, mogul skiing , and golf.

I just go MacGyver on the trail, I patch tubes with pine sap and oak leaves. If a cable breaks I use strips of vine.
