What sort of equipment do you bring on your rides?
So what does everyone bring on their rides? Helmets of course, but do you bring multitools, gloves, camelbaks, patch kits, bike pumps, eyewear, etc? The main reason I ask this is I want to find a good set of gloves, but it'd nice to see what everyone else brings along.
|
I bring a helmet, some red mace gloves (forgot what they are), camelbak rouge, some park tools multitool, patch kit, and a mini-pump.
EDIT: Yeah, I always bring a phone as well. |
I'm strickly a XC rider, so I usually head out in the boonies. I make sure I have a first aid kit along with my blowfish, camera, bug repellant, lighter, compact jacket, pump, spare tube, and an excellent map of the area. I also take my cell phone, for what I dont know, because so far, there has been no service in the areas I ride in. I usally have a ziplock baggie with some fig newtons, you know, "it's not a cookie mommy, its a fig newton."I also carry a business card for id purposes in my pack, just in case I run off a cliff, they'll know where to tow the bike. :)

I usualy bring my gloves, a cell phone and spare tubes and a mini-pump if i bring my little back-pack deal. It all depends on how far/long im going as well.
|
helmet, gloves, camelbak, phone, shin gaurds.
|
Beer. And alot of it.
|
bike, rack, panniers, work cloths, lunch, wallet, keys, cell phone, usual tools, new topeak roadmorph pump, water bottle. Going home I usally pick up a big rock or two for the garden.
|
Wallet, keys, cell phone, duct tape, flash light if i might be out during the evening, tire levers, tube, patches, mini pump, selection of allen keys, spare links, chain tool, knife, multitool, digital camera, gloves, couple liters of water...all fits in my cargo pants or camelbak mule. Even if I'm only going to be out for a little while on trails close to town, I still like to be prepared.
|
keys, cell, road morph pump, ipod, minitool, spare tube, pocket knife, cliff bar, kodiac, water and maybe beer.
|
Wow If I got a buck for every time a thread like this comes up, I would be filthy ritch!!!

camelback blowfish, tire levers, tube, multi tool, gloves, glass, lighter, herbs, occasionaly a gronolla bar and extra water depending on the heat and how far i intend to ride. sometimes an extra layer if i think the weather is inclamate. it kinda changes from ride to ride! sometimes i nix the camelback and i just rock the three pocket jersey and water bottles. it all depends my friend. after reading this post, however, i do think i will start carrying a form of identification. great idea beacuse you never know what might happen!
Edit: I wear a helmet. but i thought that went without saying but everybody else thought it was worth saying. so i guess i should too. |

As carried on long trips off road. All I have used this year was the gel packs.
As someone has said- this question keeps coming up but puncture repair kit and Pump are all you need- Tear the tyre off the rim with your teeth as I forgot to mention tyre levers aswell. |
Camelbak, pump, tyre levers, sticky patches, food, phone, sometimes iPod if I'm on my own, helmet and gloves.
|
-helmet
-gloves -sunglasses -cleaning cloth for sunglasses -phone(usually no service) -keys -CO2 inflator (with 3 carts) -glueless patches -small set of metric hex wrenches -watebottle with water or deluted sports drink. -70 oz hydration pack - water only In the pack I have 1 food item usually a rice crispy treat or pack of combos(i can't stomach the gels)and either a GPS if I feel I may get lost or want to print a map later, or a camera for pictures. Not much storage in this pack. I prefer to pack light until something goes wrong of course. I have to drive to go on a trail so I have all kinds of stuff in the truck which is usually 10 miles or less away. |
