Probably about 75 rigid/25 suspension. I ride it mainly rigid locally but if I am taking it to unknown trails I will usually use a suspension fork for fear of the unknown.

I am probably going to sell the Reba and keep the White Brothers Magic and swap it between the two bikes.

DasProfezzional 09-06-07 10:15 PM

Nice looking. Too racy for me, and once you go riser bars, you won't look back, but it does look good. Built for speed, that one.

Terrapin Ben 09-07-07 09:33 AM

the tripple tirangle is crazy. your bike looks super fast. it's nice to see GT back in the game. sweet ride!

Terrapin Ben 09-07-07 09:38 AM

I love that exchange. My proudest BF moment. It was a few pages ago for those interested, and I do like to think that his embarassment there made him change his forum name.

You're supposed to use square brackets for sic.

Whassa travel on that sucker, Smashy?

Dannihilator 09-08-07 09:06 PM

140mm front, 150mm rear travel.

i have always noticed that fs bikes usually have equal travel front and back, and if not that they have more up front than in back.

Is this how the fat possum is meant to be or is it personal preference?

Dannihilator 09-08-07 09:18 PM

While having equal travel front and rear may seem logical, but remember with the suspension properly set up the rear is supposed to have more sag than the front. With the matched travel with out the sag, then put in sag, the bike is going to feel awkward when riding. Having at least 10mm extra travel in the back with the sag will make for a much more balanced ride.
Rear:

150x.30=45
150-45=105

Front

140x.25=35
140-35=105

With sag set up, it's equal, how you had it:

Rear:
150x.30=45
150-45=105

Front:

150X.25=37.5
150=37.5=112.5

Which makes for a very imbalanced ride.
That 10mm difference allows the bike to ride more balanced.

mtnbk3000 09-09-07 11:31 AM

i see, so its not about the travel, its about the travel minus sag
