nice shots farmer, im loving the yakuza, not sure how that name would go down over here thou,
nationals probably wouldnt ride one, or maybe theyd just ghost the sticker |
I like that DBR, even for its obnoxiously slow loading time. "Solid!" it seems to scream.
I don't know if integrated headtubes will ever stop bumming me out, though. My mountain bike's got one, too. Unsmiley face. |
I mostly ride road...so less attention is paid to my mountain bike, so I kept it pretty simple:

Heres my 2001 Diamondback Response with the basics I bring on the bike on long rides away from home. Texas is too big of a state to do else wise.
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6/S5031586.jpg I just got back into cycling after a 5 year break(no joke) and will be doing some upgrades to suite my riding better. |
Not quite a mountain bike. I was originally trying to find a Giant MTX 125 20" mountain bike for my daughter but just couldn't find any close to me. My LBS even called Giant headquarters but none were available. My daughter picked out this one as an alternative. She loves it. The tires are crazy wide.

The sgs expert is still kicking, except for the fox vanilla rear shock which blew out - replaced it with a manitou metal rpa 3 way. One day, I'll cut the bars narrow and get a chunky stem.

My Kona's.
Full Susser 06 Kikapu Deluxe I built up from the frame: http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/7...uxe1ba2.th.jpg And my Full rigid home-built Cinder Cone 69'er. New 05' frame. Just converted to an SS but not in this pic: http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/9...ner2zf2.th.jpg |
Here's my current setup:
http://www.dailyabortion.com/pictures/karatemonkey.jpg 18" Karate Monkey frame with Thomson seatpost and stem, Brooks B17 saddle, On-One Midge bars, Chris King headset, Avid BB7 brakes, Dia-Compe 287V brake levers, no-name cross levers, XT BB, cassette and rear derailleur, single dura-ace bar-end shifter (friction), Origin8 165mm cranks, 38T sugino chainring, 46t whatever ring (not used) as a retention mechanism, and Shimano clipless/platform pedals. The wheels are Rhynolite rims laced to Phil Wood hubs with WTB Exiwolf tires. Decent do everything 4130 frame with the sturdiest components I could afford at the time (thanks craigslist and my friendly LBS!) I've had issues with dropping the front chainring on the outside. I've thrown a 46t ring on temporarily to keep the chain from bouncing out until I come up with a better solution, but eventually I'd like to get different cranks and a decent chain retention system like an E13 or something similar. For the time being it works and is a lot of fun to bash around on. |
My god that is a sweet ride.
