So far I've liked it. Can't tell yet whether it's oversprung or just not fully broken in - - 07 pre-production unit that I got late season. Very rigid laterally and fore-to-aft: 36mm stanchions (basically a 'grown-up' version of the earlier 6" Alfalfa).

Not nearly as plush as the 8" inverted Sigmas I've (an XT and an X5), but lighter and a little shorter axle-to-crown length. Probably a better match to the Yeti, but I love my Sigmas. I like the R1 for the faster, smoother courses.

I used to have one of these (this one is not mine, it's another poster's):

Then it broke and I had to get a new frame and it turned into this:

Then that frame cracked and Giant would not replace the frame. So I took all the parts I could and moved it over to this:

The stickers on any lowers only last a couple of months until I get bored with them. The saddle is actually off of my Pista(The Pista now has a Selle Italia Flight on it, and the DX's were hurting my feet. I'm also going to be putting the DX pedals up for sale soon.

Was it just the shape, pressuring on parts of your foot? or?

Dannihilator 12-31-06 11:52 PM

It was the shape, the pedal shape actually caused a broken bone in my left foot. Put a new set of Speedplay drilliums on and haven't had any discomfort since.
