Nice, I'd leave the brakes off, they just slow you down.

It's a nice tidy weight saving too.
You don't use those in a DH race anyway. |

Almost done with the swapping of parts but here she is with her new Totem. All I need to do now is swap the Code5's from the DH bike over, add a bash ring and swap out the rr derailleur for an X.9
I was going to toss on some Hopes but for what I use this bike for the Code5's work just fine. EDIT: Removed pic for a better pic. :D |
I've a feeling I'm about to be burnt at the stake...

Here's the old Bullit with a new (to me) fork and some new OURY grips.

Nice, '66.
Did you move the Ergon grips over to your recumbent or your e-bike moped? |
For god's sake, where's everyone else's mud? Is it some kind of rare substance outside of my state? -_-
Haha, but seriously, nice bike, '66. |

Haha, but seriously, nice bike, '66. As a matter of fact, yes. Here in SoCal mud is a very rare commodity, our bikes just get covered in dust. Notice my ride just had a bath? |

My 07 Stinky, all stock except for the e. 13. I'm hopefully getting some 66s or 888s in the future.

so no clipping in on dh bikes? need to be able to put a foot down quickly?
|
Well, I finally took a good pic while out on trail so here she is uptop O' the mountain, we had no idea there was a picnic area up there as this was the first time there. Nice area even though the radiation registers at 90+ppm:twitchy: in some areas

Radiation? Near Las Vegas or something?

You carry a geiger counter on your rides?
|
Well, if you're gonna ride into the cursed earth...

I used to until I begrudgingly had to get a new bike (I like it now though :D) and plan to upgrade to DX's as soon as I have the money. One thing I learnt is that it gave me so much control over the back end especially in rocky sections or rockgardens in particular, along with the obvious pedalling benefits for sprinting. This was on a hardtail however, and personally I wouldn't think twice about it. See if you can borrow some for a test spin. Ever ran clipless on any other kind of bike before? |
Latest update:
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...DSC_0521-1.jpg Saddle is temporary, other saddle is on a bike that I lent out. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...DSC_0522-1.jpg Yeah I'll take the plate off later. Rocking mismatced brakes because the rear Hope is getting bled in the shop. Not sure if I want it back :D http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...DSC_0523-1.jpg It's dirtier in real life. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...DSC_0524-1.jpg 6" Rotor and a J5 work well in my opinion. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...1/DSC_0528.jpg Battle scars. |

Hey BFG, maybe it's just me but that looks like an awfully cushy seat. :thumb: DBD:beer: |
Almost New Yeti

Just received my new frame, and built it up with the old components. As funds become available I plan on replaceing the fork and cranks. The other components are fine; velocity rims, xtr rear hub, formula brakes, thomas seat and stem, easton carbon fiber bars, fox rp23 shock. Rides great as is but the fork is 80mm and I want a 100mm travel.
