Not really cause the branch had to be broken off before you used it. Breaking trees is apparently bad so therefore, not so friendly :)

I put alot of though into this.

Looks like an old piece of dead fall to me,...I guess that would make it a "recyled" product:D

Recycled yes. But it would be dead if someone didnt rip it off a tree.

If there's a stick on the ground, obviously the only way it could have possibly have gotten there is if some "person" maliciously tore it off, branch's just never break off and fall out of tree's by themselves...:thumb:

The M2 looks like a blast.

Are you still thinking about a 36 Talas Smashy?

i like the fat tires! Looks fast man.

M_S 07-26-08 11:34 AM

Hey Ben, saw your pictures in the other thread. Looks like you've been doing some cool riding!

It's nice to be back on a real mountain bike. The Reba is nice too now that I'm getting it dialed in. I've sort of missed out on the best of modern suspension technology until now. I'm used to either rigid or old school forks.

Thinking more along the lines of a 454 Pike

What type/size are those tires?

I have 32/30mm SpeedMax Pros (F/R) on my cyclocross bike and get more flats than I'd like on the trails:

They're 700x40 Speedmaxes. Decent tire for the price. I also have a Panaracer Fire Cross for the front to use sometimes. Much more aggressive tread than the speedmax, but I don't have clearance for anything larger in the back.

Running a cross bike on XC trails, you have to make a lot of compromises. If you want a pressure that gives good traction you seriously risk flatting. I tend to run around 40 PSI front and 45-50 rear for trail riding with tires that are 'cross race width (32-35). On tires larger than that I go down into the mid to upper 30s. Then it's more of a 29er lite.

Oh yeah, interesting. Fox's 09 140 will be T/A also, as I'm sure you're aware. You don't think you'd stick with Fox?

Dannihilator 07-27-08 07:55 AM

But would require a new wheel with the 15mm. If I go 20mm, I have a wheel for it already.

BFG 07-27-08 07:59 AM

Yeah good point.

15mm is lame. In my opinion anyway, I'm sure there are some who will appreciate it.

oh yeah. No more front brakes rubbing when I'm in a sprint finish. Rock Shocks is also moving to adapt the 15mm through axle. Their gonna be coming out with adapters for it. I9 wheels already have em'.

BFG 07-28-08 02:56 AM

Yeah, it's all personal preference of course. No product is going to appeal to 100% of the market.

CrimsonKarter21 07-28-08 06:47 AM

New RD, lock on grips, eggbeaters, and mud.

Rock Shox isn't making a 15mm TA. What they made was the maxxle lite, which is still a 20mm TA.

I knew that. I meant, They will make the option available on forks eventually once the 15mm TA become standard
