These are the two bikes I just sold because my wife and I are heading to Belize for a 2 year Peace Corps stint. When I get back I'll be spending lots of money on new bikes for both of us.

1999 Bontrager Privateer S, sold on Ebay for $935 (I put over $900 in it within the last year!)

I built this Nishiki international last summer, probably around $400 in parts, but sold for $225.

Till I leave I'll be riding this Nishiki Caribou SS, I bought it for $27, spent $3 converting it to singlespeed, sold the pedals and shifters (suntour friction) for $85 and used wheels and parts I had laying around the house:

The white truck has arrived...

A huge thanks to Larry @ Mountain High Cyclery for getting these here before my vacation next week. These are definitely an upgrade from the Phil Wood/Syncros wheels I have been using. I was looking for a wheel with more lateral stiffness and the Industry Nine Enduro wheelset are very stiff laterally. This wheelset weighs almost three pounds lighter (includes tubes, tires, wheels, rotos and cassette) than the Phil Wood/Syncros combo.

I don't understand that shock setup??:crash: looks like there's a shock but no pivot that connects to it

Chopped EA30 bars, Thomson Elite 15º stem, Stella Azura orange bar tape.
I also spun my Eggbeaters on today and got out for a (muddy) ride, very fun. I found out also that I can do 3ft bunny hops.

I found a better picture, but I still don't have a clear idea of how the damn thing works:

it's a single pivot with a swing link.

Ahhh, I just saw it. Thanks.

The chainstays lengthen and the shock compresses when pedaling pressure is applied. I had one and I liked the way it rode, at least back in its time.

RTS = Rocker Tuned Suspension

Peddaling force locks out the rear end. It eliminates pedal bob, but at the expense of a plush ride while you're on the gas.

Those Rocky ETSX's sure are purdy lookin'

Heres my MTB an '07 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc. Its a bit heavy, but the frame is rock solid as you can probably see from the pics. I like this bike a lot even though its on Spec's low end. The RST Gila plus shocks are definitely sufficient for the singletrack i usually ride. I am going to upgrade to Deore derailleurs sooner or later since my aceras are falling apart. I am a big fan of these mechanical discs, they are silent and have great stopping power- Those things have saved my life before.:thumb:. She needs some new tires though. You can see my fossil fuel consuming bike hauler in the background
