Starting tire preasure for a newbie 29er

Hi all. I just picked up my Monocog 29er and am going to take it to the trail tomorrow. What is a good starting pressure to run my tires at? I'm 230# and will be riding rolling XC(Center trail for those Iowans). I currently have it set at 44lbs front and rear. It feels pretty good tooling around the house but don't know how it will do on the trail. So I'm looking for some advice.

Thanks in advance.

44# on a 29er at 230#???? Sounds a little stiff to me. Try 40# in the rear and 30# in the front. I think you may find that even though the tire seems to "spread" out, you'll be better overall compliance to the trail surface and you'll roll better.
