Super T
Hey guys. I bought an '06 Marzocchi Super T for my '05 Big Hit and have a question i was hoping you could help me with.
I later found out the steer tube is cut to 8.5 inches, which would be too small to properly fit into the Hussefelt stem. I was wondering if this fork will work if I get a direct mount stem. I guess my question is, do these stems clamp onto the steer tube along with the direct mount? If the steer tube only has to come up past the top crown, I'm good, but I can't find any specs or decent pictures of the stem.
Thanks.

Most direct mount stems mount directly to the top crown and do not touch the steer tube, so you're in luck.
Another option is to change out your headset for a one with a lower stack height.

Hmm actually I might be wrong, it seems as though direct mount stems for 2006 marzocchi DO clamp to a small section of the steertube.
I think the 2006 Super Ts have the same top crown as the 2006 888, so if they do this would fit...

Where does your steertube end when the stem is on?

I don't think they use the same top crown. the 888 have 35 mm stanchions and the super t has 32 mm stanchions. also, the width of the 88 is much more. I think you can retrofit old jr.t or super t crowns to the 06 though (but I could definately be wrong)

Great choice of fork for you BigHit, Tech! It's gonna be a great match.
I'm pretty sure the Super and Jr T direct-mount stems are just the four bolts to the crown w/o steer tube pinch. And if not, Funn makes the MZX4 that will work.
