Hardrock Owners Unite!!!!!
So lately the hardrock has come up in many threads, so I wanted to see how popular this bike really is and to show people how damn versital it is. So when it comes to bikes under $500, hardrocks are the only way.
So lets see those hardrocks!...
Wow, I sound like a 12 year old pinkbiker.

I can't get a picture right now but i have an 06 Specialized Hardrock. All stock except i'm going to get new parts for it pretty soon. I love it, i ride it everywhere! A hardrock is the way to go when you want to buy a bike for everything. Its good for everything! Also my hardrock will soon be a singlespeed ! I can't wait.

I often see that the Hardrock owners need to claim their existence vigorously. I think its comedic that some hardrock owners think that its the best bike for under $500, specially when you can buy Rockhopper for that money. Similarly, its really ridiculous that often Hardrock owners make it sound like no matter what a persons preferences or riding style is, Hardrock is the best bike for him/her......
now, it makes me wander.....Why do Hardrock riders need to unite or be so frantic about their bikes.....Do they feel insecure? do they feel that they are not valued? or are these a group of brats who need constant attention? I have seen people identify with brands, but not so much with a specific model…. except from Trek fuel/bruiser or something like that…….is this a teen thing or what……or is it like a dire need for attention.,…..Honest question buddy.....please help me understand…..

Yup, Hardrock owner here.
Since I bought this bike in November of 2005 I have replaced:
- wheel set (Sun XC2 disc specific rims with DT Onyx hubs)
- front derailler (LX)
- rear derailler (LX)
- crank (LX)
- bottom bracket
- shifters/brake levers (LX)
- suspension fork (Marzzochi) sp?
- brake calipers (Avid BB5)
- brake rotors
- cables
- housing
- chain (times 3)
- cassette (times 3)
NOW it's a good bike. Basically I bought a frame for $700 (oh, and a seat).

just sold mine. had raceface shore cranks, xt rear derailleur, titec stem, and fsa riser bars. i put on all new cables and housing, a new set of pads, and gave the kid a hell of a deal. it also had a sweet top cap with dancing bears on it. it was a nice bike, but not that nice... i'm happy to be rid of it.

Honestly though I don't even own this bike anymore but I have great respect for it. It was the bike that started it all...
