It could be the end of the line.....

Every time I have ridden lately my bum knee feels like it's coming apart. I'm gonna take a brake for a while but if this keeps up I'm not too sure what I'm gonna do. Right now one short ride is not worth three days of pretty bad pain.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You could always get knee replacement surgery and become a bionic man...

Take a brake for a while. You don't want to break anything!

Mate that sucks. Would some extended R&R off the bike help? Or is it one of those injurys that dont heal? Even if you stay off the bike a while, are you just going to hurt it at work anyway?

Sorry to hear that. Take care of your knee, get it stronger and get back to riding.

I'm in the same boat. I banged my knee up something fierce a few years ago. Once I did a 12 hour race and repeated the laps and intensity the following week, it now hurts with every pedal stroke. I had to skip a race this weekend to, hopefully, get it healed. I'm going to the doctor in a week and a half to have him look at it again (found the torn meniscus last time). I'm hoping it's only a bone spur situtation and can be taken care of quickly.

Best of luck to MB66! I hope you heal fast and get get back out there shortly!

That sucks, have you tried taking glucosamine chondroitin? That might help out a little.

man, that really sucks.

I would definately go see a sports doctor / orthopedist.

I am about at that point with my right shoulder from swimming. 1 hour swim and my shoulder aches for 2 days. it blows

Get better. I am out as well but nothing so prolonged. I injured myself kayaking (you have to smile at that)

The t3's are making it much better

Do you do any quad specific weightlifting? Riding a bike favors two of the quad heads so it ends up misaligning the knee because all four are not equally worked. Also, weakened hamstrings could cause imbalance in the leg.

are you running clipless? perhaps play around with cleat position/shims. Small adjustment made at the cleat can have a huge impact on how your knee moves throughout the pedal stroke.
