First MTB ride = Rain = Night Ride

Got my first MTB last week (Scott Scale 40). I'm a roadie so the whole suspension felt odd and I oddly felt less stable on such a wider based tire. Went for a 10 pm night right (I have a Light 'N motion Arc light) in the rain....it was great...fell twice, once slipping on a wet root in a turn and another because my SPDs were too tight on spring tension and couldn't unclip when I stopped...such a noob haha I've been riding clipless on the road for 2 years now and it has been along time since i've fallen from being unable to clip out

Jeepers.

I'll give you props for choosing to have your first mtb ride in the dark, and in the rain, with too tight pedals... but you sort of wussed out by not drinking the customary litre of hydrochloric acid, and wearing the crown of poison thorns..

Maybe for the second ride.

Still, pretty cool.. I guess.

;p

Very cool. I'm glad neither the rain nor the dark derailed your fun (pun not intended).

Welcome to the dark side.
