I got the Gary Fisher Tassajara

Bought the Gary Fisher Tassajara. Thanks guys for the help in making the decision. I think I am going to like it. Now I just have to get out and find some places to ride. As I am new to mountain biking.

You could always do some basic street stuff just to get a feel for it. Stairs for example are a decent way to compare a really rought section on the mountain. One 2 and 3 steps try and hit them fast enough to clear them. This will kind of simulate a couple of aspects of mtbiking...

Congrats on the bike BTW

Congrats gawarrior. Where did you buy it from?
Now you can try some of the MTB trails around atlanta like Blankets or Sope Creek or Yellow river. Have fun and can't wait to see the pic...

Forgot to take the pic last night. I'll try again tonight.

As for some places to ride in GA, I just did some quick searches.

Here's a web page from GORP.com
https://gorp.com/gorp/activity/biking/bik_ga.htm

And here's two books you can get off of Amazon.com, both by Jim Parham
"Road Bike North Georgia: 25 Great Rides in the Mountains and Valleys of North Georgia"
"Off the Beaten Track: A Guide to Mountain Biking in North Georgia (Off the Beaten Track)"

Good luck, have fun!

Cograts on the new bike. I bought mine with disk brakes about 3 months ago. I am really happy with the way it rides. Good luck.
