Epic Day
The girlscout and I got out in Pisgah for a long day on the trail. We did all of Black Mtn trail and some others. It's the first long ride of the summer for me. It was hot but it was a blast. We saw a bobcat and a blackbear and only saw a couple of other people all day. Good times. I hope to get another long one in next week.
Miles of sustained climbing will wear on ya............

But the payoff is worth it in a great view..

the laurel tunnels......

and some killer downhill

Black mtn is a pretty good ride......

You rode just a little bit of it. We took a right at the stairs and that gets you many more miles of riding. We just don't grow mtns like you guys.

Yeah, and here's the funny part. We stopped about 50 yards to get another look at the bear and this guy passes us. I say "black bear" and point up the trail,he just nods and keeps riding. He rode right buy it and never saw it. Later we caught up with him, and he thought we said we were eating blackberries. We all got a kick out of that.

Glad to hear that was your first long ride of the summer. That way I know you won't be running my rear into the ground when i get out there.

Sweet looking trails! I'll have to make a pilgrimage there at some point.

Awesome. That climb is grueling. I love the downhill part though. You just can't get that same techinal feeling when your not in the mountains. I might head up there again cause I gotta free saturday next week and I'll probably just find a good campground around that night. I love the outdoors.

Saweeet ! I'm gonna have to get over there and ride that sometime.
As for the animals, we don't get to see bobcats too often however see
bear just about every time we ride over in the mountains of Pocahontas
County WV.
Thanks for the post and the pics.
