this bike seems like a nice deal.. i'd like to use it more for freeriding. i know it's heavy, and i'm light. i don't have experience with these bikes - my current ride is a hardtail gt with a freeride-oriented front end. do you think this bike could be jumped? despite the weight, i'd like to use it for some flat riding as well. lower the chainring gear, add an 11/34 cassette. i do alot of urban riding - launching off stairs would be nice - 25 or so steps... other 6-10 foot drops.
i'd just like to know how hard a dh bike is to toss around.
thanks.

Look at the expert. This is a dh bike. It will feel awkward and heavy. Great bike but it sounds like you need a long travel trail bike more than a dh bike. It is a fantastic deal though. If you want some really experienced opinions ask at www.hcor.net as they have interactions with the engineers and many many riders there live for these bikes.
