You may get a bite...there have been an awful freakin' gob of posts lately about weight.

craigcraigcraig 05-15-09 02:43 PM

always seems to be easier to lose weight on your body than your bike. and it's cheaper :)

edit: i guess that doesn't necessarily get the desired effect always. and no offense to anyone of course with that.

Throw in a set of dirt drops and they'll be beating a path to your door.

ed 05-15-09 04:23 PM

Touchė, my good man. Well done.

ed 05-16-09 01:06 PM

Hey Dan! Check this crap out:
http://www.bikecult.com/works/collec...daccorditt.jpg

That hurts my wang just looking at it...looks like all my body weight would be leaned over on the nose of the saddle.

That rear wheel looks like a 900c or something.

ca7erham 05-17-09 05:52 PM

Well, a bunch of f***ers have essentially destroyed the jumps we were working on. That a was a waste of time, I doubt they will be rebuilt; the guy who was leading construction was fairly pissed last time this happened.

ca7erham 05-17-09 07:13 PM

Hehe, we think we know who it might be (we ruled out the homeless guy). Bad thinks could happen.

The rear is a 700c, the front is a 650c rim. TT/tri/Pursuit bikes used a setup like that back in the days.

craigcraigcraig 05-17-09 09:30 PM

lol at the first reaction! hot bike though.

yellowjeep 05-29-09 12:28 AM

I posted a want add on CL for a rigid to make in to a SS. I got an email about a 94 police edition Trek 930, guy said he used it for patrols while in the Navy.

This is what he said: "Upgraded shift group and titanium seat (...) Mavic 217 rims and I think Shimano LX rear derailler, STX front. Sealed (I believe) hubs"

Worth the time to go check it out, I think so. What is a fair offer for the bike?

PS: does anybody know if the 94 930 had a 1in or 1 1/8 HT.

PSS: Chel and B2B, have you ever had pickles from Porubsky's?

Oh yeah! They are giving samples today at 8th and Kansas downtown here.

ed 05-29-09 06:31 AM

I actually work with one of the Porubsky's. Those pickles are the shizzle, dizzle! Spicy! Their chili is the beezneez too, man. Heck little Russia's got it goin' on!

1994 Trek 930

1994 Trek 930 SHX

IMO...50 bones...w/o actually seeing it. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if it will accept a Rockshox Quadra 10...I believe it's 1" HT. Just have the dude measure it for you.

yellowjeep 05-29-09 10:43 AM

Dude wants 250 for the bike, to rich for my blood, which is fine because its to small anyway.

I wish I was up there for the samples. I don't even know what made me think of that, its been 2 years since I have had one.

ed 05-29-09 10:59 AM

Good lands dood! $250 is waaay to much.

yellowjeep 05-29-09 11:03 AM

Dannihilator 06-01-09 10:26 PM

No riding today, spent all of 7 hours trying to get a rear wheel built only to find the drive side hub flange had a crack in it.

So basically wasted 7 hours and have nothing to show as a result. Very aggravating.

yellowjeep 06-02-09 12:59 AM

Oh man I would be PISSSSSED

ca7erham 06-04-09 06:01 AM

Its like 2 hours from me, I really gotta get up there.

STEEP!

ca7erham 06-04-09 02:07 PM

Well, being my idiot self, I got a new headset because my old one was just about dead. But I forgot about Cannondale's Ghey 1.5 head tube. I ended up just taking apart my old headset and re-assembling it which should work for a bit. If not, I'm screwed as I have a group ride with 12-18 or my friends tomorrow (most of whom have never ridden, could be funny). On the flip side, this may or may not have pushed me over the edge to get another frame. . .

Buy it, dood!!

yellowjeep 06-04-09 05:51 PM

I am really tempted, but I need another bike at my parents house like I need a hole in my head, so I figured I would pass it along.

yellowjeep 06-04-09 08:06 PM

Surly is gone. I wonder if somebody here bought it.

ed 06-04-09 08:17 PM

Hope so...

...I'm freakin' beat down! I've been working on my "SoccerMom" van. CV shaft, tranny seal, front pads and rotors, rear wheel cylinders and shoes...I'm freakin' baked, man.

I don't enjoy wrenching on cars anymore...just bikes.

mtnbiker66 06-05-09 06:02 AM

Hoping top hit the new skatpark today......all this rain is killing me.
