Haven't been on the bike in about a month. (knees) Saturday was gonna be my first day back post-hiatus. Trails were shot. Today was gonna be my next first day back. Wife and one kid have the flu...had to leave work early to take care of the whole flammy.

Does the good Lord want me to quit riding or maybe just wait until the Flow is done?

Ran a 5k earlier. Wow, I really suck at pacing myself. Did it in a pathetic 24ish mins (according to my start and finish time; we'll see what the chip thingy says), started off way too slow seeing as I literally sprinted the last half mile.

Patience boy, patience! You are storing up good points, taking the higher path! The wife will see, she will appreciate, the rewards will arrive.

craigcraigcraig 10-29-09 10:21 PM

haha well i got the bike, it was a craigslist deal. D was right it's a 24 inch se floval flyer but i have always wanted one (so i kept the suspense) so i traded my fixed gear wheels for it. ill put up a picture tomorrow was a bit bust tonight.

Business810 11-02-09 12:34 PM

I'm going to test ride two bikes this evening - an '09 Rockhopper Expert 29er and an '08 or '09 Cannondale F4. Excited about trying them and the possibility of getting a new ride, but also trying to figure out how to justify spending the cash on a new bike...

mzeffex 11-02-09 08:12 PM

I had a 330 calorie 5 inch sandwich from 7-11 tonight. Turkey, ham, and cheese. How is this (330 calories) even possible?

ed 11-02-09 08:26 PM

Mystery meat...and cheese au nat'ur'ale

mzeffex 11-02-09 08:39 PM

Well it was American... but hey, it was a damn good sandwich.

Sitting in the Orthopod's office...2 XR's done.

ed 11-05-09 10:36 AM

XR was pristine...he said that I need to keep riding...but not on a SS. "Use your gears." Your patella puts 5x the pressure against the groove at the trochlea...so I'm 200lbs = 1000lbs of pressure there.

Normally, he recommends his patients exercise b/c they have weak quads causing this sort of pain. My case, he said was different. Def no damage...def keep on the bike.

craigcraigcraig 11-05-09 10:54 AM

so are you going to put gears on? doesn't seem like jumping down 5 stairs on a SS would be good either lol.

ed 11-05-09 12:56 PM

I'm not worried about the Flow...I think what really started all this was climbing that steep freakin' hill on the SS. That repetitve motion under a heavy load. I'm assuming the 5 stairs was a reference to the flow...though really...5 stairs is Crapper'able.

craigcraigcraig 11-05-09 03:45 PM

i thinking jumping the stairs not riding them but yes the flow. I hope my knees dont wear out prematurely, have a history of it in the family.

ca7erham 11-05-09 05:16 PM

Peace be with all of the ft. Hood victims.

craigcraigcraig 11-05-09 05:26 PM

+1 not too far from home.
