First time off to go mountain biking in a real mountain biking designated area. First time in months! 'o course, often look for just like foot paths and other dirty areas, but this one has the single track and berms and ohhh so excited. :D

Me? Most definitely, should be back before 8.. but then again.. who knows..
Also looking forward to it since it's the first time here with the new XT drivetrain and juicy 7s, that should be fun too.

Went for a jaunt to the castle and back,\
got stuck in a thunderstorm, had to take refuge in the castle, got caught up in the mud, rode through to rain, did about 18-20 miles.

Just went down to the bike... I need to use a brush or cloth, its still got dirt spots all over it, but atleast the main stuff is gone.

--wanted to test out my new camera phone, so sorry about some of the pics. it was to dark for no flash, but to light for a flash lol.

Well, back from the adventure. Pulled some muscle in my leg and totalled my front wheel in the first stretch of the trail, about 5 minutes after arriving. My friend was in idiot and slammed on his brakes, and I crashed into him and went over the handlebars. That was my first endo, by the way. Anyway, wrecked my new wheel. It was it's maiden voyage too. Otherwise it was quite fun. Here's one photo, more in daily ride reports.

Two years in June. He crosses my mind now and again and every time it makes me sad and smile at the same time.

Dannihilator 09-20-09 09:52 PM

Was such a sad day two years ago.

Siu Blue Wind 09-20-09 09:53 PM

Is that general enough?

I picked up somthing else off craigslist. needs a bit of work but the price was right. I'll post it up in the rides thread when it's rideable next week.

Neither can I dang it. I hate when a good plan falls apart. Bike is clean tuned up and ready to roll.

Business must be taken care of instead. :notamused:

Rain.

I had intended to go early this morning (school board meetings, so no school), I was even up by 5:30, but it was raining quite hard and had been the night before. And I already had plans for lunch with some friends, and I had other plans for the afternoon, and tonight is movie night with a bunch of friends. The irony is that if I was riding right now, the trails would probably be ok, as it stopped raining at 10:30 or so.

I'm at Silver Mtn. Idaho for SilverRoxx - two days of some music, a few brews and lots of gravity-fueled racing. Tomorrow morning: short course DH in jam-session format (as many runs as you want from 10-noon); throw out your slow times. 2:00 in the afternoon is the Super-D and I'm ready this year with a bike that will pedal uphill. Sunday is the 15+-minute Endurance DH top-to-bottom. I love that race. See if I can dust the 30-year-olds again or maybe they'll skool me. I'm stoked!

craigcraigcraig 10-02-09 08:30 PM

sounds fun! I saw a pink transition bike on campus today and thought about your bike.

ed 10-02-09 08:53 PM

Yeah...every time I see a pink bike...I think of Doug too.

craigcraigcraig 10-02-09 08:56 PM

maybe it wasn't even a transition now that i think of it....

ca7erham 10-05-09 02:01 PM

Video from one of our runs at our recently refurbished spots. Only about 100ft of vert, but still fairly fun. I need to get up to clear off some of the other runs. Nothing big or hugely exciting, but its what we've got.

cool video!

Sorry to hear that, Ed. What's this deal with knees and bikes lately? You and 66 and who else? I thought that was supposed to be a runner thing.

Dannihilator 10-05-09 10:55 PM

Ed, are the crank arm lengths different on each bike?

4evrplan 10-06-09 03:09 PM

Come one guys, post faster. This forum is my entertainment while I'm supposed to be working.

 Nope

Dannihilator 10-06-09 05:58 PM

As in on one bike 175's, the other, 170's? That actually does have an effect with the knee tracking.
