Zing! Double Zing! |
been bikeless now for 9 days.
The bikeshop here is..... dumb. I put my Dawg and the rear wheel of my Trek into the shop, 9 days ago, (last saturday) and I still haven't gotten them back. I went there the other day and asked where it was and why it's not done... all I needed was a tuneup, and the rear-wheel needed to be rebuilt, thats the only time consuming part... but 9 days... and nothing... really? |
I discovered a surprisingly good tire combo.
Front: 26x2.35 Maxxis Minion DHF Rear: 26x2.35 Maxxis Larsen TT That combo sounds like it shouldn't work, but it's actually one of the most balanced setups I have stumbled upon. |

Oh great! Ed decides to cross train on a road bike and this is what he found! Oh well It seem to have the hip 29er rear and that twinny fo front he has always dream of building. He He

If there's no motor in there...I'm lost.
|
Ah but on the other hand, If there is a motor, it's OK if your lost.
|
WTF is up with that ... bike?
oh, 11 days later I still haven't recieved my bike or wheel yet. I went to the place today, and inquired about them both. The bike is buried by a bunch of other bikes..... and my wheel....... this irked me.. They had to have me come in and FIND my wheel, because he couldn't find it. The service tag for my wheel is on the seatpost of my bike... I found my wheel in a corner, covered up by another bike.... it still hasn't been touched either. When I initially took the wheel in I was told 1 hour for pickup... 11 days later..... ..... still not done. still not even started I'm very mad. We are loosing daylight like crazy here, and it gets colder and colder everyday. I am loosing my time to ride. Sun started to set now, around 7:30.... grrrrr... |
so ask for it back and ride it til the conditions get worse when you would ride less. Then try again.
|
I told my friend, and my dad that I will give them until friday, If it still hasn't been serviced.... I will write a formal complaint and submit it to their supervisor (whom I happen to know) and will demand I get my property back.

Very sad to hear Dan, i only lost my grandfather recently as well.
I wish you good days ahead. |
Still bikeless...
Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I lost mine last october, its tough. |
sorry to hear that D, i try and make milkshakes often because that's what my grandfather always made for me when i went to visit him.
|
My fondest memory. That is really hard for me to think of being that there were so many. The one that does stick out a bit were the mornings that I spent out on the porch talking or on the water with him fishing. Always felt at ease and always had fun even if neither of us caught anything.
The funeral was today, was a pallbearer. Being that he was a Marine, he was able to be put in Indiantown National Cemetary. He had military funeral honors. |
He will be one of the first you look up, when you get there. Sorry for your loss, wishing you comfort and closure on the grief.

I finally got my bike and wheel back.
after 27 days.... they even had the nerve to charge me for it. the Kona seems no different... think it actualy shifts worse. and my brakes are worse. My rim... all the did was put the 2 spoke in. they didn't re-true or tension anything!!!! I can hand tighten some of the spokes.. -_- worst Bikeshop ever. disgusting. |

Ok, so my friend's Can'o'ale frame just broke (the same one that I had, and I rode a good bit hackishier than him), so obviously its going to be replaced under warranty, but he (rightfully so) wants to replace the frame with something else a tad more durable. The frame was a size XL, and was almost too small for him (I think he's 6'4" or so). I think he wants to spend under 400$, so I'm thinking an On One Inbred not sliding drop out. Any other opinions?

I will not do that again. I will spend the extra money (dollar->euro conversion.... ouch) and go off base next time. for the Treks Wheel, I just wanted to spokes, I was getting a spoke tensioner and all that and wanted a shot at rebuilding the wheel, myself. They wouldn't sell me the spokes... said they have to install and tune it. so I said fine, have at it. I get it back and its not even close to tuned.... one spoke is tightend all the way, the other is barely threaded in at all -_- grrr. I have no luck at biking components and service.:twitchy::( Ok, I'm off to work now, Y'all have fun! |
HOOK EM HORNS!
oh ya, and my bike shall be complete next week. And I am joining my colleges mtb cycling team. |
I thought of Al Wong the other day.
