I love my white brothers.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of the differences between a 'dirt jump' frame and a maybe a xc hard-tail. I check craigslist all the time, seeing what people are selling, and a guy has a Rocky mountain flow frame. I'm not really interested in buying it, just wondering what really sets this apart from a run-of-the-mill hard-tail.

Slacker head tube angles (sometimes, anyway, as with the Flow's 66.5), shorter seat tube to allow more maneuvering clearance over the top of the frame and much burlier junctures at the head tube, chainstay/seatstay and at the bottom bracket.

The weather been great this week. I've been able to ride every day. It's only home from work on my rigid bike but it's nice country roads for about 6 miles. At least I'm getting a little leg work in. I was riding out from the shop on Wed. and my boss was coming in. He stopped his truck and told me to take the work truck home, I just laughed at him. It was 65 and sunny, no way I was driving home.

That's awesome, I'm getting snow here!
|
We had freezing rain/flurries here in GA...
Heavy winds and really cold today |

I'm thinking about buying a new ride. But I can't decide which one the recycles sticker will look better on,the Exterra or the Element.

An Element with a recycles sticker? You could tell everyone it runs on corn liquor.
http://www.rottencode.com/images/rwd_element.jpg never has an Xterra I think. |
I'd buy WTP's white sedan.

// We got more crazy snow! This year is for the record books. I read that our total accumulative snowfall this year is something like 3.7m! That's 12 feet for you metrically challenged. Remember some pics I posted a while back after our third big, big snow fall. Pffft. In these pics the driveway was already cleared by the snow removal guy but you can see how crazy the snowbanks are. http://stradasystems.com/mtb/images/IMG_5715.jpghttp://stradasystems.com/mtb/images/IMG_5719.jpg http://stradasystems.com/mtb/images/IMG_5727.jpghttp://stradasystems.com/mtb/images/IMG_5730.jpg |

But the element is really practical inside. No carpet, tough seat covers. My kids are voting for the Exterra as well.

I also tried out a twin turbo Volvo wagon. My wife said she didn't see that as a good idea. That thing was wicked fast.

Make sure you check out what the toe hitch options are for all your options. As I found out, some cars only have expensive options for getting a toe hitch installed. That's if you are looking to pull or put a hitch-mount bike rack. |

You talking about the V50? I like that car. I'm not a fan of front-wheel-drive and large power, but if you spring for the T5 AWD I think you'll have a pretty nice car.

http://www.beadage.net/pics/gallery_pieces/15-300.jpg Anti-SUV? Now I'm offended because so much of my self-worth is tied up in my SUV. Reported to moderator. |
Isn't tongue weight also a consideration? Didn't Madonna write a book that involved toes and tongues?
