+1

Some sort of super duper space age plastic held together with kevlar string. Looked good at the time but had a nasty habit of exploding due to the kevlar string breaking, usually just as Tomac was placed to win.

Don't run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!

Just giving you a bad time - - but watch how you throw around the word 'old.' If you click on my sig graphic you will discover that I predate you by a smidge.

It shows when you double post. Sorry, it had to be said, and was left wide open.

The Niner is cool, but standard road drops kind of suck off road. I speak from experience, having been riding cross bikes for all my off road stuff for the past year. You want to beable to tuck into the drops easily in descents and that isn't alkways easy when they're 10 inches below your seat. Thus the popularity of midge bars set in silly-looking high positions. Looks funny, but it seems to work.

What were we talking about again?

That Niner would make an awesome marathon bike though, especially if the course had a lot of ong bumpy fire roads and stuff.
