Building a Banshee

A short video of some frame production here. Contains cutting and welding. Kinda neat.

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.

Very fun. Gosh, that just makes me want a TIG setup all the more.

. . . and a CNC mill and SolidWorks and . . . oh, who am I kidding; a lathe and a Bridgeport would be good enough

Gee thx gastro, I put a deposit on my Viento frame yesterday but I have to wait 3 weeks because they are out of stock

Banshee is a great company. I had the pleasure of exchanging emails with Jay during my frame hunt. He is a really nice guy and knows his schtuff.

As do I. Through their blog, I followed the design progress of the Rampant from CAD through prototyping, testing, tweaking, and production. Fascinating stuff. To their credit, Jay and Keith are willing to share information freely, and are highly focused on riders and rider input rather than fancy marketing tactics.

The other video's on the side are nice too. It's nice to be able to hear someone explain all the design features that go into a frame.

Good stuff, thanks for posting.

I got my banshee frame ordered. It's on back order so it won't be in until the end of the month. Can't wait. I won a Fox 32 RLC Talas on ebay the other day and have everything else lying around. Just short a frame

They do if you're looking for an overpriced powzer frame that you won't be able to get for 14 months. Santa Cruz has that market cornered.

Powzer? The Chameleon costs more than the Viento, doesnt come with a seatpost, and isnt available for 3 weeks. Granted the Viento isnt ready for two weeks, that still doesnt justify why Banshee sucks. I know I bashed them a few weeks back because their welder is Pacific but I can look beyond that.

I don't think you quite understand the direction of the conversation...

Its not that I dont understand, its that I dont care. If he thinks they suck then thats his opinion, I'll still be a proud owner in a few weeks.

Here is a nice little present that came in from their blog:
