I am looking for some new xc tires for this year something that will last. I do a bit of road travel also, I was looking for something 2.1 or 2.3 thanks for input

Hmm.. I like Michelin Comp S tires, on a recommendation from TimB and a whim I bought them... awesome tires. I've heard Michelin tires use a soft compound. My previous sets of Michelins have worn about the same as any other tire compounds, though. They shed mud great, too.

there has to be about 6 sets of great all round XC tires in a 2.1 that are very solid tires. Dont stick to what suggestions are made here in the board because everybody is partial in some way. The best way to look for tires for me has been to go down to a couple of LBS's and take a look at what they have and what you think would work well for you. Maxxis, Michelin, Panaracer, Hutchinson, Continental,Intense, Tioga and WTB all make 2.1" XC tires so you really should look around before you start to make your decision.

I run Hutchinson Pythons. My BF runs Hutchinson Scorpions. We like both sets well enough.
