Front Derailleur Question

Well, I decided to go with the SRAM X.0 trigger shifters along with the SRAM X.9 long cage rear derailleur. I've read somewhere that I believe the best option for a front derailleur to go with this combo would actually be a Shimano XTR. Is this true?...if so which XTR should I get I noticed they have a few different ones....BTW I'll be using a M770 XT Crank on this bike(Santa Cruz Heckler) if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I have a SRAM 9.0/x.0 mix and an XTR FD. As far as I know, the only difference is clamp diameter/braze-on.

Bikes: IRO Mark V pro (RIP), Bianchi Giro, Giant Xtc1, Redline Conquest Pro, Kelly Deluxe singlespeed.

The different models are to fit various frame types... all of them are dual pull. That said, I think you want the FD-M970 for the heckler.

I usually just run Deore front derailleurs...basically the same weight as an XTR and with a proper tune, they shift fine. On the trail bike I have X.0 shifters and X.9 RD with an LX FD...only because I had it left over from the last bike I parted out.
