Adapting Brakes to new fork, or get new brakes?

Adapting Brakes to new fork, or get new brakes?
ok so i got a new fork, but the LBS didnt realize the new one had IS mounts. so i bought an adapter for a 160mm rotor but it doesn't seems to fit right. i have to wedge the rotor to get it on. obviously that aint gonna work, so i flip the bracket and it fits but i have to use the spacers to make it fit which only gives me about a 1/4" of pad surface on the rotor. another obvious wont work situation. so what do i do here? how do i find out what bracket i need without buying every adapting bracket out there? or do i splurge and buy new brakes thatll bolt right up? i dont want to if i dont have to, but a little part of me wants some nice new avid's.

Is it a manitou fork?
My BB7 fits perfect without an adapter on my IS post mounts.
the BB7 would work a lot better then the tektro

Tektro may very well be slightly different from other's mountings (post-boss to brake-pad center). Hayes and Avid are pretty interchangeable, but . . . Tektro has their own line of adapters; I believe you need part no. 9504-20420 - - available from Universal Cycles for $5.99

its a rock shox tora fork
as for the info on the bracket i was told to flip it either way to make it fit. i tired both, and both failed.
dminor - thanks for finding that stuff for me. i did not know that. i may just get that bracket after all. even though a set of hayes or avids is still on the mind.

are you serious, i had 2 different shops tell me this is the right one. one shop i even had my bike at and i brought it in and they said it will work.
