Drivetrain question

Guys,
a quick question: how do I know my crankset/cassette needs replacement? I've been through three chains now but I dont have a clue how to tell if the thing is worn or not.

Any input appreciated.

If the spikes are curved and not pointy anymore, like a shark fin.

Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

Get a chain wear tool if it's past 1 you need a new chain, cassette and chainrings.
