Just bought my wife:

I got a good deal on closeout and they had a 15" model that with a shorter stem fits her just right for a trailbike. She is not to crazy about the color (She calls it battle ship grey) but the parts spec for the price I paid is hard to beat:

FORK Fox Forx Vanilla RL, 125mm travel. HEADSET Cane Creek Zero-Stack 2 Aheadset, 1 1/8”.
WHEELSET Mavic 219 rims, 32H, w/ Shimano Deore front and rear hubs, WTB 14g stainless steel spokes.
TIRES Hutchinson Scorpion, 26 x 2.3”, wire bead.
DERAILLEURS Shimano Deore XT rear, Deore 31.8mm conventional clamp/top pull front.
SHIFTERS Shimano Deore Rapidfire-SL, 27-speed.
CHAIN Shimano CN-HG72.
FREEWHEEL Shimano HG50-I, 9-speed, 11-32.
CRANKSET TruVativ Hussefelt, 44/32/22, 170mm (13-15”), 175mm (17-21”).
BOTTOM BRACKET TruVativ Gigapipe, ISIS, 68 x 113mm.
PEDALS Wellgo DH full alloy platform w/ single sided clipless body.
BRAKESET Hayes HFX-9 XC hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear, w/ Hayes levers.
HANDLEBAR Koski Stronghold XR, 38mm rise x 660mm.
STEM Koski Stronghold Deluxe, 75mm x 15° (13”), 90mm x 15° (15”), 110mm x 7° (17-19”), 130mm x 7° (21”). Replaced with an Azonic Aggro 50mm
GRIPS WTB dual compound.
SEATPOST Koski SportPost, 350mm x 27.2mm w/ alloy clamp and QR seatpin.
SADDLE WTB Laser V Comp E w/ SL top & sides, steel rails. Replaced with a WTB Speed She CompSIZES 13”, 15”, 17”, 19”, 21”
COLORS Primal Grey
WEIGHT 30.50 lbs

Now I have another "project bike"

Looks like I might be stripping it down and sending it in for powder coating. I guess I should have thought more like a woman. You know parts don't matter its the color that matters. Oh well.

But... doesn't she know? All MTBs have the same colour... dirt.

Looks good. Some reviewers complain about Jamis' customer service / warantee service, but maybe she'll not need them.... I hope you didn't pay more than about $900 for the '03 1.0 XLT, if not then you "did" get a good deal...

Well after a few rides, the color is "growing" on her. She loves how it handles and rides. This is her first full suspension and she can not believe the difference. She is still getting used to the hydro brakes and not having to be as carefull with the lines you pick.

Hopefully this weekend we'll head up to Snow Summit and she will appriciate what it has to offer all the much more.

It fits me like a good dirt jumper/4X bike should. But it is hers not mine Maybe I'll get another 3-5" travel bike for myself. Hmmm thinking Enduro SX....
