intercollegiate racing

hey all,
I have been gathering info on intercollegiate racing, but was wanting the inside scoop. Have any of you done it? Know anything about it? Have friends who have raced for their school? Hey- schools have lots of $$$$ how sweet would it be to tap into that resource and have them foot some, if not all, of the bill while we go ride killer mountains?? thanks!

Never did any during my time there, but from what I know, most teams are self funded. Due to budget cuts most intercollegiate sports get minimal funds, usually just enough to cover entrance fees and very rarely some equipment, usually trailers, tools or racks. Most teams organize fund raisers and depend a ton on sponsorship. It definately worth a shot! Go for it!

P.S. Don't do too much , but have fun!
