Motobecane 400 HT

I've search and searched, can't find anything on this bike....

I was at the LBS and seen one and it fit my price range and looks like it has some pretty decent parts for a noobie... I'm looking for something to cruise around on... maybe a trail here and there at the local park or something.. maybe the beach...

Here are the spec for the website:
Shimano Alivio 24 Speed, 7005 Aluminum TrailTuned frame, RST Capa TL fork 89mm, Forged Aluminum V Brakes, Black Anodized Aluminum Double Wall rims with Machined Sidewalls, Stainless Spokes 36fr/36r, M-Wings Disc hubs,, Forged aluminum Crankset,M-Wings Aluminum Bar, Threadless Stem and Micro-adjust Seatpost,Kenda ATB Blackwall tires.

This bike is on sale for $299.

Does this sound like a good bike for a noobie not wanting to spend more than $300?

if u dont want to spend more then 300 i guess, if you plan on getting more into mountain biking save up 50 more bucks and maybe get a trek 4300.

you might also be able to get a specialized hardrock from a lbs. if they have the 2003 model leftover it will probably be under 300. a 2004 model of it i think its 350-360
