GT Aggressor 3.0

Hey there folks, I'm new here to these forums. I'm skippy thewonder squirrel. I'm looking into buying a second bike as a fixer-upper, and found a 01 or 02 aluminum GT Aggressor 3.0. It is missing a few parts like wheels, seat, and a couple minor pieces. The price is only $45obo, and for the most part, I'm really only interested in the frame of it. My question is, has anyone had any expierience with this frame? I can't find much information about the frame specs/geometry/weight of it. I'm a big heavy guy, so a strong frame is a must, yet I'd still like to get an aluminum frame if possible. (Currently riding an aluminum 17" Marin Rocky Ridge frame). Any replies would be great

ummm, Google, GT Bicycles gave me: https://www.gtbicycles.com/mountain/c...etail.php?id=1

Was that $45 or $450? $45 I hope?!

By the time you buy what's missing, you'd probably be better off buying a decent new bike or a nice USED bike. Decent wheels will run you $200, seat, figure $30, plus miscellaneous parts, probably $50. Then you've got to know enough to put it all together and adjust it. If not, figure another $50 to take it to a shop.

With $400, you can get a decent new bike, or a sweet used bike!

Bikes: Started off as a GT Agressor...not so stock anymore.

Try mtbr.com.....they have alot of good reviews on there....you might be able to find something. I have a built up GT Agressor frame....I love it, its light as can be and awesome looking....can't comment on the durability though, as I am a small frame female...

It was $45. I already have a decent bike ( 02' Marin Rocky Ridge frame, Judy C fork, Deore XT components, Mavic wheels, etc.) I was just looking for a decent (and cheap) frame to throw some extra parts onto (it's aluminum, so thats a plus). I have all the parts, and the time, and the know how, just not the frame. This seemed like a pretty fair deal, but I know nothing of the GT mountian bikes. Long time BMX rider, I had atleast 3 GT's of that variety, but never even rode a GT mountian bike. Thanks for the reply though.

Well, I've had several GT bikes (old BMXer as well) and several before they were bought out by Pacific. I've seen the "post Pacific" bikes and they appear to be fine. For $45 you really can't go wrong. I say, "Go for it".

Its alright, I had one, but it is the cheapest lowest end aluminum HT frame GT makes... not particularly light, and probably not the greatest strength wise either. But for XC or whatever its fine.
