Helmet Cam Video
credit to pete f. for the idea. thanks.
this is my first video ever. just downloaded a trial video editor and gave it a shot. the video should have a HD option on youtube near the slider at bottom of video.
it looks a little shakier on youtube than my home version....but not sure if it really is. i have a new helmet on the way that should provide for more secure attachment and less shakiness for future attempts.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_1i9Vr81oo
thanks

ps isn't there a way to embed this youtube in the thread???

Nice video. Quality seems pretty nice to me. What kind of camera is it? I would like to get one myself.

There is but you have to have the magic powers. Here you go . . .
Looks good, BTW - - I'm going to have to watch it tomorrow when I get to work and a fiber optic connection.
. . . and good to have you back!

Thankyou so VERY much for the video. Desert riding is absolutely one of my favorite things in the universe!
Also I like your choice of music, for me so much more meaningful than thrash/head banger stuff I see all too often. Goes well with the mellow/flow nature of this trail riding.
I can't go back to Nevada/Utah/Arizona/New Mexico soon enough. Get me outta Western Washington!
And yeah, nice to see you here again.
How's the Ibis?

Nice choice of music, pretty serene rolling through (around) all those cacti. I was watching for the gnarly downhill but I guess that wasn't the point

i wanted one of the hard drive ones but read somewhere that tape based is better when dealing with editing. it might have something to do with the the editing programs and the compression of video in the camcorder.
these issues might have certainly changed. this was about a yr ago that i read that.

Yeah, i just threw down the the classical tracks. i lucked out in some areas with regard to "matching" the music. it took me way too long to do that clip. by the time i got to the music, i was like screw this and just inserted and chopped it off at the end.

remember, as i have been fooled in the past, the terrain never looks that bad on camera!
i also need to work on a slightly better mounting system before i go too gnarly.
i should be able to tone out some of the shakes with this other helmet...fingers crossed.
