CBR600

Hey guys I'm new here to the site. Been about 10 years or better since I rode a mountain bike. I'm looking for some help on what style to get for my size and weight, 6'3 280 pounds...I want a road style but something if i wanna hit woods I can do that as well. I have a very nice Oregon scientific watch with all the fixings, and can't wait to get a bike, but I'm just needed some guidance on what one or where to go....any and all help would be awesome... I go into bike shops, and it seems that they always fit me for a bike that cost well over $1,000. If I was going to put that kind of money on a bike it would be my street bike. I'm just looking for something because I live in town to tour around in, and maybe go through a trail or two when I come across it. Also, maybe some thing that wont kill my ass the first five minutes of riding would be friggen awesome.
