Yup!

I believe this is a 2016 model, I really enjoyed riding it.

Only thing I missed was the remote lockout from my hard tail.

Yep same as mine. Killer bike! Enjoy your time on it.

Recently built up a new wheelset: Flows (white for 1/2 the price of black = OK) on a new front X9 hub, reused Bontrager SS rear hub I've been running since 2010 & new DHFs front & rear - sans tubes.
...and an Avalanche open bath cartridge in my Pike . :)

Nice supergo! How did you manage the tight chain without a tensioner?

OldsCOOL 11-20-16 08:16 AM

My favorite vintage MTB, an '84 Alpina Uno. Has a Shimano SIS (thumbies) 3x6. It's a kick to ride.

Thank you! And the chain is tensioned because 34-17 is a "magic ratio" for this specific frame. All you have to do is measure the chainstay length and use this website (http://eehouse.org/fixin/formfmu.php) to figure out what ratio will stay tensioned. It's good until the chain stretches a bit and you lose tension, but the Supergo has a few mm of horizontal movement, and single speed chains are cheap enough to where replacing it completely won't break the bank.

That said, it gave me some chain issues on the trail yesterday from getting bounced around so much, so I'll be switching to a chain tensioner + 8 speed chain. It won't look as clean, but it's a worthwhile sacrifice for functionality.

New project! 26er Chinese carbon hardtail. Any recommendation on a good suspension fork?

Congrats!

I bought my dream hike, Sworks Stumpy, last summer after over 30 years of MTBing.

Crazydad 12-21-16 11:48 AM

Thanks Kindaslow! Stumpys are great bikes too.

I would have given Yeti serious consideration, but my local Yeti dealer didn't give me the time of day when I went there. They lost a big sale.

Built up a 93 Diamondback Ascent EX frame with a mix of late 80s and early 90s components. Just wanted to mess around on local singletrack trails this fall. 3x6 friction shifting and all.
No tough riding and what i came across was easily handled.

Im slowly building up a '93 Mongoose IBOC Comp SX frame which should be fun and hopefully fit well. Looking forward to spring!

I hate shops like that. But it is their loss, you still got a great ride.

Midwest Ullrich 12-25-16 07:49 PM

24 lbs for a full suspension is light! Love the color scheme. How does the rigid 29er ride? Which one you spent most of your time riding?
I am still riding a 26 full suspension. 28 lbs. Always etching to get a new bike!

'89 Raleigh technium Ovation, $30, '93 Giant Boulder,$35. The Giant was basically mint with
rockshox, nothing too special but the price. Adequate for a geezer like me. It's been nearly
60 years since I used to downhill an old Monarch with a springer fork & 3" balloons. That was
more than a dozen fractures ago. I've a bit more sedate riding style these days.
