Do different travel forks have different overall heights?

I'm trying to do a Headshok conversion on a Cannondale frame. When I bought the frame on Ebay, it came with Problem Solvers rings that allow you to press in a regular headset and use a standard suspension fork, but they add 1/2" overall height to the bottom of the headtube. My brother is doing the same conversion on another Headshok frame. He looked at some new Cannondales at the LBS with Headshok and compared the heaight of the bottom of the top tube to standard fork models.
He ordered me a Cane creek headset that allows the conversion without the rings, instead of using the rings, I wanted to just use the CanCreek headset. All of the forks I have laying around- a Rock Shock Indy, A Rock Shock Judy and a Manitou are all 80mm forks. All are temporary possibilities until I find the fork I want. My question (finally) is if you have different travel forks, say 80mm, 100mm and 120mm, are the lengths/ride heights the same? Do they just travel further over the same overall ride height? I have no idea what travel forks he based his measurements off of. I want to be sure that I maintain the correct head angle and ride height. I'm not sure of the best way to solve this. Thanks

yes diff travel forks have diff overall heights, the headshock axle to crown is within a few mm of the fox f120, but idk if you used those press in things, if you used a converter headset (like the cane creek XXc II) the f120 or similar fork would work perfectly, i did it to a friends F3, but with an xtra .5in idk

As well, forks with the same travel can have different overall heights (axle to crown).

Interesting example - I had a 150mm fork that was taller than two of my 200mm forks.

Also, don't measure to the bottom of the top tube for comparison. Tire size, knob profile, etc., could alter the measurements you get. Just measure the distance from the axle to the crown (sometimes referred to as A-to-C) of your fork then try to find a fork with a similar measurement. You can account for the extra 1/2" but there shouldn't be a noticeable change in the handling.

Cool, thanks for the responses. I just want to be sure I maintain the correct angle/ride height and i'd rather not use the problem solvers spacers if I can help it. I'll measure it with all the forks I have and go from there.
