Perfectly acceptable.

In reference to post #64, who the hell joins a forum just to make one weak post in a thread only vaguely related to the forum's purpose?

People do that all the time. We recruit them to do this - - kind of a counterpoint, if you will, to the teenage groms who come on every few years and barrage us with a blizzard of threads and posts about anything and everything.

Daspydyr 12-20-11 05:05 PM

"Perfectly" sounds kinda ghetto, maybe even ghey!

"Holy Crap" you ain't smelling what I'm smelt!

junkyard 12-21-11 11:40 AM

I'd like to add:

"Stop being mean, junkyard."

Or anything similar to that.

dminor 12-21-11 12:55 PM

^^ Done. Jerk.

Time to update the list:

Crew - - as in "Me an' my crew rode . . ."

This should only be used if you happen to be on a collegiate rowing team . . . or if you are a bona fide rock star and other people set up your lights and sound.
Or if you actually have to pay others to ride with you and maybe portage your bike at river crossings. Then I suppose that would make them your crew.

You sound awefully subserviant.

Webster's defines "crew" as :
2
a : a group of people associated together in a common activity or by common traits or interests

Nothing about "people serving" or "being paid" or rowing. Get some esteem, and a dictionary!

^Didn't know this thread was based on concrete information...kinda thought it was just a list of things we wish people would stop saying.

We could add the "geeK" to forum phrases though.

From the "Reflections of 2011" thread:

It is apparant that in 2011, I picked up a severe case of the "cling-ons".

I don't necessarily mind it, they just need to know what the hell they are talking about.

Daspydyr 12-22-11 11:27 AM

What about homies, can we substitute HOMIES for crew. Or is it spelled HOMEES? Of course as a chubby 57 year old white (think typing paper) guy, saying homee is kinda like putting Horse Radish on Pecan Pie. Saying homie is fun though!

As in "me and ma homees be kickin it at Sam Boyd to watch our homies dem Sun Devils kick the blue off dat Boise Smurfs crew!"

Stealthammer 12-22-11 11:30 AM

"Moreon"

Learn to spell moron....... :bang:

kenhill3 12-22-11 12:27 PM

Moron, as in double-butted tubing, as in 'more on the ends'.

I was thinking about 'awesome', but then decided against because it's so awesome.

Has anyone nominated "Forum phrases and terms that should just stop being used" yet? Who the hell are you to tell me what I can say on a forum?

Good luck tonight. As long as your loose MEGA CANNON Burfect does not break all the Bronco's in half, I think Boise has a good shot. If that guy goes all "Tasmanian Devil" on them, who knows what will happen. Looking forward to WATCHING IT WITH MY CREW!!!

How do you think I got to 10,000 posts? Quantity, not quality, my good man.
