Sounds like the IPA is popular in OR. Can't find it here in Vegas. I like trying new brews. I need a road trip to try some trails and ales. Now that has a ring to it.

Since several of you mentioned Mexican food, BONO, with U2 was in Vegas a couple weeks ago. Prior to the concert he was eating at Super Mex, a MTB (to sleazy for Roadies) eatery, cheap, cheesy Mexican food. I bet he has a Hard Tail in the bus.

Between two breweries (Deschutes and Rogue), they do upwards of 11 or so IPAs or other hoppy ales and 4 or 5 ESBs. You won't find them all on store shelves but each have tremendous variety that are - - from stouts, porters and reds to nut browns to pales, IPAs and ESBs.

Glacier Freeze Gatorade with some Viola! Italian frozen food... shower, nap... hold off on the beer until by hydration comes out of the redzone..

I'm jealous of all the IPA talk. I love a good IPA, but there just isn't the same selection out in this part of the country as there is out West.

I like to start with a squid ravioli in a lemon grass broth with goat cheese profiteroles followed by a swordfish meatloaf with onion marmalade.

Isn't that the Italian substitute for Fish and Shrimp Tacos?

Wow...I feel like a dud...I hardly ever do beer or burgers...I like to kick back and soak up the sun in one of the plastic lawn chairs at the trailhead where I ride and enjoy a cold grape Propel vitamin water...

It's all good. I don't do beer either.

That could be why I outweigh you! What about a cigar, how does Propel go with a Corona?

Actually, I was a few pounds shy of 300lbs two years ago when I was 41yrs old…I wore a 3XL shirt and a size 42 pants. I turned 43 a couple of months ago and I am 183lbs, size M shirt and 32 pants. :thumb:

Congrats Terry!! stay away from the beer and burgers to keep it that way. My beer and burger intake has slowed way down. Was pushing the 200 mark and for me thats big, I'm used to staying around 150 so time to drop the weight.

Major Congratulations to you Terry! That is a huge accomplishment. It is also encouraging. I started riding again in July and have dropped 35 pounds and just bought my first pair of size 34 jeans, down from 36. Your story is good.

You too Mindless, I need to join the club.

Stupid BMI Charts say I need to lose 20 more to be in the Fit range.

Hot shower.
5 oz. Hershey's Symphony w/ Toffee & Almonds, chased by a flavored cappuccino. Real one, not the pre-mix crap from Speedway or wherever.
Coupla good juicy cheeseburgers. Finished off with a Fat Tire, or maybe a Sam Adams Dunkelweisen.

After all that, even a hummer would be superfluous. Mainly cuz I'm ready for a nap already....

That sounds delicious. Here is my recent favourite meal from a restaurant here in town. :
- veal heart tartar
- giant ravioli filled with duck with some kind of white sauce. There were some little kidneys in the sauce, too. I'm going to guess they were rabbit or piglet.
- piece of leg of lamb with a green herb sauce, very similar to pesto sauce
- for dessert had a pine nut tart with ginger ice cream.

mtnbiker66 11-17-09 08:14 PM

I like a nice Opossum stew with ramps, taters, and black eyed peas. Wash it down with a little shine.

Yeah I started riding hard again about 2 months ago and have dropped from 193 to between 170 and 175 depending here lately. My diet just changed dramatically from fast food to more fruits, veggies, chicken, and fish. Next is to start running in the mornings before work. Right now I only get to ride on my days off due to it getting dark so early but I do jump on the trainer 4 or 5 times a week.

Mtnbiker66: Sounds like your somewhere here in the south! And 'shine is like drinking gasoline one sip was enough!

Post ride recovery used to be a very pretty girl named Monica. But then I got married, had to give that up.

The BMI can be misleading anyway, especially for athletic people. Muscle weighs more than fat, so the BMI can say you're overweight when you're actually more fit than average.
