Any interest in a new forum: Bike Forums>Bike Forums>Downhill

I've been PMing Joe asking for his permission. Would anyone else besides me be interested in a Downhill forum?

Dazza 08-06-04 02:12 PM

I think they tried to start a hucking forum section. Problem is once you start to divide it up so much it gets confusing, and there are less posts/threads in each section, and therefore people lose interest easily.

FoX Rider 08-06-04 02:16 PM

I dunno. I just think its another major style of mountain biking. So I thought it should have its own forum.

I don't really think this forum has been overwhelmed with downhill posts to the point where it's become unmanageable. Until then, my vote is to maintain the status quo.

Maelstrom 08-06-04 03:01 PM

Really this subforum doesn't get enough posts to warrant splitting it. I don't see how it would help. I can leave for a week and come bac and there are usually not enough posts to hit page 2...

Raiyn 08-06-04 05:58 PM

No need to fragment things more than they are.

anthonaut 08-06-04 08:44 PM

I can understand your reasoning behind the forum but atm, its fine.

Hopper 08-07-04 08:43 PM

Really if we were to split this forum, it would make more sense to split it to-
Mechanics (oh wait there is already a bicycle mechanics sub forum)
and riding/techniques

FoX Rider 08-07-04 09:04 PM

Guys! I'm not talking about splitting the Mountain Bike forum. It's a whole other forum thats seprate from the MTB forum.

Maelstrom 08-07-04 09:42 PM

like a mountainbikeforums.net?

FoX Rider 08-07-04 10:01 PM

NO!!! LOL did anyone read the subject line?

IF I WERE TO SPLIT THIS FORUM IT WOULD BE:

Bike Forums> Bike Forums> Mountain Biking> Downhill

WHAT I SAID WAS:

Bike Forums> Bike Forums> Downhill

TOTALLY SEPRATE FROM THE MOUNTAIN BIKING FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raiyn 08-07-04 10:06 PM

Hmmm so far there's no support for the Downhill Forum at all so why are you stressing about it? You're the only person that seems to want anything do do with a Downhill only forum so perhaps it's time to drop it.
Just a thought

FoX Rider 08-07-04 10:12 PM

I only think theres no support because everyone thinks i'm trying to split the MTB forum. Which i'm not trying to do.

Maelstrom 08-07-04 10:59 PM

But you are still indirectly doing it. There isn't enough posts to warrant having a dh forum. To make one would really thin out the posts in mountainbiking...

and really...if you want to talk serious dh/fr...go to nsmb, pinkbike, hcor or ridemonkey. All 4 are heavily dedicated to the 'hardcore' ;)...

Wrong. There's no support because no one wants to have another subforum to create, maintain, and navigate to if there's no need (which there's not).

fhod36 08-08-04 12:58 PM

well if you want a DH forum, than we should make a freeride one, and a X-country one, and a trials one, and so on. so in the end we'll have a whole bunch of forums with like 3 people in each one... what a comunity that will be.

FoX Rider 08-08-04 01:10 PM

I asked for interest not criticism. Thanks anyways.
