Frame Ideas
Hey all,
So I'm in the market for a new mountain bike, I want something that I can ride up and down hills, but that can take a beating going down.
I'm pretty sure that means I want a freeride bike, correct me if I'm wrong though.
So my budget is $1500 for a frame and a fork (separate or together doesn't matter).
Anyone have any good suggestions for a good frame or fork?

I know this guy ()who has a Transition Blindside that will be up for sale very soon. Frame is a medium and will come with an '09 RST R1 dual crown with 7" travel for about that price tage; and the guy may even be willing to throw in a Syncros FR wheelset for a little bit more. The Blinside can be outfitted with an E-type front derailleur for the climbs and absolutely obliterates the descents.

That's some really stupid crap to post. The Girlscout rides his Stinky all over Pisgah Ntl Forest with no problems. I've seen him do 25 mile rides with many miles of climbing. I did the same for years on a Bullit,Gastro on an SX trail.....You can climb on a freeride bike, you just hit the granny and spin when it gets steep.

You should be able to fiind that frame with a decent fork for 1500 bucks. It fits your description. And of course you can climb on a free ride bike, you probably wont win an XC race but who wants to anyways???
