bad/good on chameleon

Hey had heard chameleon is a solid xc frame for dh/dj/fr etc. I also heard of some owners sayin the 2001 frame cracked around the seatpost but didnt say how long they had the seatpost out...any truth to this?

thanks

Yes lots of truth. There was also problems with the head tube weld. IT used a triangle shaped weld which moved the stress to the toptube, ripping it in two. In 2002 (I believe) they changed it to a V (standard weld on most downtubes) and it fixed the problem. As of 2003 most of the problems related to the chameleon were fixed....except cost. There are many aftermarket frame makers making better frames than this one.
