2.3 or 2.1 -- which is better???

I may be splitting hairs...but I'm just wondering. I'm looking into buying a set of Hutchison tubeless Spiders. They're profiled as a good all-around tire and they look similar to my Conti Vert Pro's, which are 2.3's. I like my Conti's but they are a bit sketchy in loose dirt or sand...but they are great in mud...

Anyhow, the Spiders are available in 2.1 and 2.3...major price difference, but I'm not looking to give up performance. I know the 2.1's will have less rolling resistance, but will they handle as well as the 2.3's??

Keep in mind, I weigh 210 lbs (on a good day). I had 2.1's on the bike when I bought it and loved the traction I gained with 2.3's. However, I feel faster now than I did then, and my riding has really went from anything/everything to more enduro/xc-type riding...

what do you all think??
