There was one at the race I was pitting in here in whistler. NO ride experience but the guy in question loved it. But really that is a useless statement

My buddy just picked up his last night. Not sure the model, but it's dark anodized green with last years frame and a mix of Deore, LX and XT. Very sweet looking bike.
He didn't have pedals. He just picked it up from the shop. Stopped by my place on the way home so I could check it out.
I'll let you know.
The one thing that really surprised me was the weight. It was pretty light. I was expecting something in the 35 lb range and I'd be surprised if this weighed over 28.

I have been drooling over these models for a long time and when I went to take my rich boss to buy a bike, he of course picked my dream bike.
I likes it so far, but he is out of shape and not so hot at riding. This morning we went out and he got a flat at the TOP of the 3 mile uphill and had no extra tubes. Really felt bad for him, so I bombed home and went to the road with his van to save his walking, he was sweating like a 20 dollar vegas.... ok well I won't go there.
But as far as the bike is concerned, it is great from what I could tell. I rode it through some little dirt sections and it felt great, I am not used to rear suspension as I am a hard tail kind of person, but I liked the bike. A little big for me, but the parts were all great, and the bike itself would make Santa Cruz owners take a jealous peak....

I own an '05 base model, which is the SWEET green color. I am totally impressed! I went to get an '04 model, and they did not have any in size XL in stock in any of the Sepcialized warehouses, so I had to wait about three weeks before the '05 was available. I am a little upset that I cannot find any info on the interweb about specs on the bike even though I already have it. It would be nice to know that kind of info, especially since I am a newbie.
Of course, this is my first mountain bike, and I my not know what the heck I am talking about, but be that as it may, I love this bike! My bud that got me into MTB'ing has been riding for 10 years or so, and equally loves my bike (you know, bike envy is a bad thing). I am trying ot find a way for him to bust up his GT LTS so he can buy one of these enduro's but no solution yet...
