Rhyno Lite XL's vs SingleTracks
JensonUSA.com has the Rhynolites with XT disc hubs for $160, and the Sun Singletracks with XT hubs for $145. Whats the real differences between these rims? I checked the ssun website, but theres not much comparison charts and such. I know the build design is different, but what are the strengths/ weaknesses of the two?

there's no real difference between the two. from what i know - and i could be mistaken - is that the singletracks are the disc specific versions of the rhyno xl's.
i've got a set of singletracks on my fluid and they haven't needed truing since getting them.

check the measurements for the two to see if they're comparable... i can't read them on my screen. the picture's too small (that's what i get for having my resolution set at 1152x864, haha).

i'm using singletracks/xt at the moment... im by no means an aggressive rider but these wheels seem pretty tough. wide and heavy.. in fact a little too heavy for my liking but that's another story.

when i was shopping for a new wheelset, it was trying to decide between the two also. well, kind of. i was trying to decide between the regular rhynos and the singletracks. i opted for the singletracks because of the fact that they were disc specific and also because of the bling factor - they were all silver. silver rims, spokes and xt disc hubs. can't go wrong with that

I've had my Rhynolites (XT disc 14 ga 3x) for almost two years and have cased on them pretty hard. I give up about 25 pounds or so to you squirrel but I'm not what you'd call a technique rider. NOT SMOOTH at all. They're still as straight and true as the day I got them.

I remember...I don't know how they hold up to serious freeride abuse. But under my 270pound ass they have lasted on upwards of 6 foot drops consistenly and 100's of hours of lift assisted dh.
At the very least these are great trail rims. Strong and light. And possibly light fr and some dh. I also have a high end hub on both and 36 hole for both which helps in wheel strength signifigantly.

I killed my front Rhyno Lite XL wheel when I hit a roll-out all wrong. I think ANY wheel would've suffered. I replaced it with the same and haven't had any problems in over a year of riding. The back needed a little truing after initially breaking in, but that's normal for a wheel, especially a machine built one. (vs. Hand Built).
I'd go with either one, and have been looking at the Singletracks for my next set.

I know a lot of people who run 36's, I've been riding 32's and haven't had problems. Although, I use straight 14 gauge spokes so my wheels are a little bit stronger than a 36 with butted spokes.
Not to start a debate, but I've just had better luck with straight gauge over double butted regardless what the engineers say about "strength to weight ratios, butted are just as strong....blah, blah, blah".

ive ordered a Sun Rhyno Lite XL on Friday for the back because my other one is that bent it looks like it got hit by a car. Also im getting new spokes and using the exsisting hub because i havent got the money to buy a new one, its gonna cost $145 AUD because it is gonna be hand laced. Are rims that were hand laced better than machine done ones?

6'5 (not quite 7) and 250 to 270 depending on the seaon. Years of football, basketball and then 7 years as a gym rat. That and I carry a bit of weight in the wrong places too hahaha
You are the same size I was in grade 4 almost exactly (maybe grade 5...). I was 6'5 by grade 8 and 210. My leanest since was season one of football at 220. I will never be a small guy.
No offence taken. Excluding some excess body fat, I love the way I look and wouldn't have it any other way.
