Buying a new DH
Hey!
Im new to downhill and ive ridden for a while now on a crappy scott and its time to change to some serious stuff.
I have around 800-1000£ and ill probally get a used bike
The Scott gambler looks interesting but im not sure if i should buy it without testing it...
Ive never tried a full suspension bike nor a double-crowned fork so some stuff might feel different..
So what brand/model do you guys prefer for a newbie DH MTBer?

I know this guy with a very nice, lightly-used Transition Blindside frame that is still for sale . . . .

Heading to a resort and renting bikes or riding friends DH bikes are good ways to get a feel for the bikes. Otherwise, just pick something and go with it. Your preferences may change over time and you'll likely end up with something different in the not too distant future.
