Suggestions for mtb beginner?

I've been thinking of getting a mtb and I was wondering what would be good for a beginner. Good names in general? type of suspension? speeds?

Be grateful for any help~

i think some good names for a beginner would be J-Rad, or Speedy or Nate-Dog. makes you sound cool, which is what it's all about. my personal favorite type of suspension is Suspension of Disbelief. for speeds, i would go with Adderall or any good amphetamine, especially as a beginner. later on you use cocaine, but at first it's just too expensive and not worth it.

Wow........thats to quality right there. Could you sub Jiggyfly for Nate-dog? If you're a beginner and you crash a lot it might fit better.

Thanks guys! I'll keep these in mind for next time I need a new bike. Someone decided to give me a challenge bike so...meh. Guess I can't complain since it's a gift.

I dunno, those names sound cheesy with a touch of "wanna-be". Already got that suspension - it's awesome, though it has a habit of not working. Why isn't cocaine worth it?

J-rad isn't cheesy at all, my buddy's name is J-rad, and he is actually pretty effin rad. i agree with mtnbiker66 up there, he had a good recommendation with Jiggyfly, so you might want to think about that one. cocaine is more of an advanced speed, more for the pros, lots of nuances you wouldn't be able to take advantage of or notice as a beginner. you should start off with basic speeds and get a feel for them, then work your way up.

either way, you got a free bike, which automatically makes it a great bike for you. enjoy it.

I think that if look close you'll see a glaring error in that post. I would go with meth over cocain. It's more addictive and burns the brain up faster,so Meth is the obvious choice in this application........I'm just sayin'.

no, i don't think so. meth, while an excellent diet supplement (have you ever seen a fat tweaker? i rest my case), wouldn't be good for cycling. it rots the teeth, and then with no teeth, you couldn't bite down on the camelback bite down valve, so you wouldn't be able to hydrate, and then you would die, as explained by the camelback mantra "hydrate or die."
