I Have Cajones!

Well I finally worked up the 'anatomy' to hit my first stair set. The freeride club here at VT has some insane riders, and I didnt want to intro myself and not have some experience under my belt. SO i dropped my seat all the way down and huckked. The first set I hit was a 5 stair. Did that a few and then hit two 5 stairs in a row, about 7ft from on to the other. Did that a few times. Then saw 6 6 stairs in a row, like the 5's, but more. I could only hit four in a row, BUT that was b/c of speed and people. So now i have some healing to do, my wrists are dead (did this for about 1hr), my right ankle was twisted, and simutaniously my pedal took a bite out of my calf, and my 'ahem' have taken a few too! Im proud of my self, off to the showers, few hours o' sleep and off to 8am bio lab yeah.

If any one can huck that or do just about anything with that I give you serouis credit. Everytime I look at that pic I keep picturing a guy making it about 7 or 8 steps then bouncing head first the rest of the way...

Sacrifice a virgin to the bike gods...i.e. ride down it on a Pacific bike.

So did you actually clear the five steps flat to flat at each go or did you do the rear wheel skimming the stairs as you fly down thing. I have been messing around with a lot of urban stuff lately - mostly because I am commuting a lot and get bored. Oh and what bike where you doing it with?

Actually stairs like that aren’t that bad as they are close together with an equal depth to rise. The down side is, that makes them almost a 45 degree slope. So don’t fall. Just get way over the rear wheel and hope your legs don’t give out before you reach the bottom.

It’s just a civilized version of Moab.
