Mountain Bike Maintenance

Hello all,

Last summer was my first year with a real mountain bike. I got the GF Wahoo disc. I have had the bike in the garage for the winter and aside from lubing the chain and cranks, I am not sure what other maintenance should be done. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

air up the tires, tighten various bolts, and you might need to replace cables. depending on how much you rode before storage and all, you might need new brake pads, depending on the fork you might need service on that. take it out for a test ride around the block and see how it feels. fix what you don't like.

I`d say if it was new last summer than you probably don`t have enough miles on it to worry about much if you were only riding on weekends. Pads should be good for over 600 kms even with lots of use so suggest you just wash n` wear. A good wash by hand will let you inspect the bike up close. Then just check than all allen bolts are tight, do a light lube and re-inflate the tires.
