SX has been very competitive this year which makes it much more fun to watch.
I'm getting my shoulder cut tomorrow so I'll have some time off. I've been lining up a long playlist which includes https://www.hulu.com/watch/79438

Hope it's the smaller.
Haha, I have a knee like that. Those toes still get colder in the winter.

OK - - so I watched San Diego tonight. Interesting track: a couple slow hairpins and a couple other odd corners that scrubbed speed. It was fun watching how riders dealt with a track that had less flow and made some odd lines work for them . . . and sometimes not. Good on Millsaps for the wire-to-wire in the 450 (go Suzuki
). Really too bad Reed went down even though I was pulling for Millsaps - - it would have been a good race right to the end.

^^ Yes, do tell - - was it a Dremeling or a Sawzall job?
Looking forward to it; will probably watch it tonight.

Looks like I'm likely a one bike person for awhile until I decide on something to replace the 930, driveside dropout is weakened on the frame.

I'll help . . .
Outpatient intake:

His surgeon:

Post-op:

BTW, watched the Dallas (well, Arlington, technically) Supercross last night whilst pedalling on the spin bike. Good thing to do to pass the time instead of just couch-potatoing it. Cryptid was right - - it was a good track with some things that could reach out and slap you if you lost concentration or your line. Wow, Bell's getoff was scary to watch; glad to see him right back at it in the LCQ.
Highlights for me:
Millsaps gets second in the final. If he keeps this up, Suzuki better think about putting a factory works rig under him. Faith 7th in the Lites; Alessi misses top ten with a 12th I believe. Another day . . . .

Highlights for me:
- Faith (MotoConcepts) gets his first heat win in the Lites. Gotta root for the MC guys - - MotoConcepts/MotoOptics, HQd here in Spokane, is our shop team's goggle sponsor.
- Suzukis take both heats in the 450 (Stewart and Millsaps); Alessi (MotoConcepts)a solid 2nd behind Millsaps in Heat 2.
- Watching Partridge manual the full set of whoops in Heat 2 to pass Nicoletti - - amazing! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQQqJJLRt6c - about 3:50 in)

Forgot to post this: watched Atlanta Supercross last week. Great race - - definite star of the evening was the track. All that red Georgia clay and a big ol' wallowy sand section that rutted out real nicely as the evening wore on. Parts of it started to resemble a real motocross track by the time the main events came.
Last night, caught the St. Louis race (getting cught up slowly but surely). Viewing was a bit schizophrenic, since the 450s were on CBS Sports (with real abbreviated coverage) and 250s were on Speed but it was all good. Man, what a bunch of races! Definite highlight for me was the intensity of the competition: a LOT of passing and re-passing, traffic, place swaps. I felt like it was the best racing action of the series so far.
I'm beginning to see why the four-strokes are the bikes of choice for indoor especially. The tight turns and being able to torque out of a near-dead-stop with instant hook-up is amazing.

It really is incredible how they can boost a 70 foot triple with a 35 foot run in.

I watched all the heat races last night but it was getting late so I'm saving the LCQs and mains for another evening. Daytona is a fascinating track: outdoor supercross - - an odd but interesting hybrid. The mix of dirt (and sod) types really made it chew up patchy and gnarly; I liked that. And the 'blue groove' lines showed up early and got real deep, a lot of times turning into a single, tire-width rut.
It was interesting to see how most turns developed two distinct lines - - the tight-tight inside and the waaaaayyyyyy outside - - and how the inside was an advantage in some but not in others. It was weird: the guys who sought the alternative line (usually railing way outside) could go in a lot hotter, carry speed and look like they would be able to make a pass based on the sheer speed they carried. And then the inside rider's bike would hook up, squirt right out from under the other rider and hold them off most of the time. [I wondered why nobody chose a middle-ground approch by not swinging all the way out to the berm and cutting in mid-track. Yeah there was no berm there but if enough guys tried it, one would have started forming to help. But what do I know, never having raced a supercross?] Then there were other turns where the inside line was just too tight and the rider who rode outside that or crossed out-to-in or in-to-out had the advantage.
Observations so far:
Looking forward to the mains. Oh, and going to Speed Week someday is certainly on my bucket list.

Observations so far:
- A lot more aggressive passing this time around too it seemed - - some contact that was not just incidental (I think it was maybe Frieze stuffing it inside on Faith and shoving him off the turn?).
- Long, skinny infield made for some loooonnnnnng straights - - man do they move when you get an open run.
- Roczen on his 350 dueling Dungey on the 450 - - great stuff.
Looking forward to the mains. Oh, and going to Speed Week someday is certainly on my bucket list.

Watched the Daytona main events last night. Oh yeah . . . THAT'S motocross. Track turned downright real by the mains; enough to make the best look mortal at times. Gawd and we think we encounter braking bumps - - some of those were enough to nearly buck riders off. Fitting that the outdoor World Champ won the 250. Great night of racing.

^^ You can see the main events on TheMotocrossWeekly's youtube uploads:
https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMotoc...?feature=watch
I see that others post some of the heats on youtube too, so you'd have to do a little jumping around to catch most/all of an evening.
I have satellite/DVR so I just set up to record as many live events ahead as my scheduler can find.

I wish someone carried the AMA Pro Flat track series. Speed is supposed to carry it but I won't hold my breath. MotoGP and Superbike will be on Speed.
OK - - I just watched a clip from the Pro Singles at Daytona and I'm seeing front fenders - - WTH?
This is Class C racing; that supposed to be no fenders, no front brakes (no rear brakes either back in the really old days).

Awwww . . . but then you miss the LCQs. They have some pretty interesting action sometimes.

They had a live stream for the qualifiers at Daytona last Friday, but it was blacked out with only audio for flat track due to a 'technical error' that they fixed just in time for the supersports.
Honestly though I'd give it all up for a televised AMA Supermoto series. Or an AMA Supermoto series, period. One day...
